Tuesday’s “Our Nation’s Fiscal Future” panel will feature Joseph Antos, William H. Taylor Scholar in Health and Retirement Policy at the American Enterprise Institute, Joseph Minarik, Senior Vice President and Director of Research at the Committee for Economic Development and Concord Executive Director Robert L. Bixby. Panelists will dispel common myths about fiscal policy and explore the budgetary challenges and pressures facing the next president.

The “Principles & Priorities” exercise calls for participants to work in small groups to develop plans to put the federal budget on a more sustainable course. They will discuss and vote on dozens of proposals involving taxes, defense, Medicare, Social Security and other domestic issues.

This is the second in a series of programs on the federal budget that Concord is presenting at universities where this year’s presidential and vice presidential debates are to be held.
